• Bella Piper

Bella Piper is pursuing her Master of Arts in the United Nations and Global Policy Studies at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. She graduated from Stockton University in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations, where she participated in Model United Nations and volunteered for the New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking and developed a keen interest in human rights. Her current focus in the UNMA Program is on gender-based violence and human trafficking, with a particular interest in the legal frameworks that prevent human trafficking and protect victims. After graduation, Bella intends to attend law school and pursue a career in public-interest law, defending victims of violence.

Beyond academics, Bella is eager to gain professional experience in the international and legal sphere. In Spring 2024, she interned with a human rights NGO in Minnesota where she partook in advocacy efforts against gender-based violence for various treaty bodies, including CEDAW, ICCPR and the UPR. She supported the drafting of stakeholder reports and monitored Member States’ compliance with the treaty body’s recommendations. She was also employed at a law firm in Princeton, focused on civil litigation, and has further leveraged that experience to her current intern position with the New Jersey Courts in the family division of Monmouth County. In her free time, Bella enjoys knitting, baking sourdough treats and going for walks in nature.
