May 2022 graduate, Jackie Hankard is finishing up her political affairs internship with the Office of Rule of Law and Security Institutions at the United Nations. In her position in the front office, Jackie supports the activities of the Department of Peace Operations by preparing summary reports on developments in mission setting, drafting notes, background papers, talking points, presentations and speeches for senior UN officials as they pertain to OROLSI mandated activities and priorities.
As Jackie’s internship comes to an end, her focus is on finalizing a paper that will allow her to receive class credit for the internship. The topic of her paper is “Accountability for Crimes Against Peacekeepers”, which is not only a subject of concern for her office, but the entire United Nations.
