In Spring 2020, Atharv interned at the New York State Office of the Attorney General (OAG) as a Research and Analytics Intern. As a member of the OAG’s Research and Analytics Department, Atharv supports OAG case work, investigations, and policy initiatives through the following: contributes to the design of research projects, collects, organizes, and manipulates various data, applies statistical modeling and data analytics techniques to draw policy insights and develop legal cases, and creates visual analytics to present as legal artifacts. He also implements automation techniques to help streamline and automate the data collection, organization, and manipulation efforts of the Research and Analytics Department. Atharv has supported the OAG’s work on the national investigation on opioids manufacturers and distributors, and is currently researching avenues to address pitfalls in the cybersecurity frameworks of healthcare organizations. He is technically proficient with the use of Python, R, SQL, and Tableau.
