From July to December 2017, Vincent has served as an intern at the Security Council Affairs Division of the United Nations Department of Political Affairs in New York City. During his internship, he was exposed to the work of the different UN Security Council Sanctions Committees and assisted in policy development and research work. He had a front row seat to United Nations sanctions implementation as he sat in on meetings of the subsidiary bodies of the Security Council, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Sudan, Libya, South Sudan, and Somalia and Eritrea Sanctions Committees and of the Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict. In addition, he also researched and wrote a study on the thematic sanctions trends (for 2016) across all UN sanctions regimes, and also completed thematic research on gender-based violence and organized crime.
