Yasin is currently serving as a Humanitarian Affairs intern at the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) in New York. Based in the Policy Branch in the Policy Analysis and Innovation Section, Yasin is actively engaged in providing cutting-edge and evidence-based policy recommendations in addressing humanitarian situations across the globe. His specific assignments include assisting with the completion of the Agenda For Humanity Synthesis Report alongside preparing for the Global Humanitarian Policy Forum. He also supports in note-taking for the Joint Steering Committee on the humanitarian situations in the Sahel region and the Horn of Africa. Yasin had the unique opportunity to volunteer for the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly with the Intergovernmental Policy Section at OCHA. Throughout the week, he assisted in capturing the key messages and themes by several heads of state at the Climate Summit and General Debate. This year’s theme focused on strengthening multilateral efforts to address climate change, poverty, inequality, and sustainable development.
