Student Profiles

Weisbond, Jay

BIO:

Jay Weisbond is currently a first-year M.A. student in the Rutgers University Department of Political Science's United Nations and Global Policy Studies program. Jay graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Political Science and a minor in Spanish in 2022 from Florida Atlantic University. During his studies, Jay was a Student Education Abroad Ambassador with his study abroad department, after his wonderful experiences studying abroad in Madrid, Spain, and Prague, Czechia.

Jay's interest and passion for different cultures, comparative politics, policy research, and social justice convinced him to apply for the UNMA program. Jay plans to focus his studies in the UNMA program on international law, human rights, gender equality, and sustainable development. Currently, Jay is interning at the Office of Assemblyman Sterley Stanley of New Jersey’s 18th legislative district in East Brunswick, where he continues to learn and research environmental, health, and safety policies in New Jersey, the United States, and other countries! He hopes that his experience both from this internship and from the UNMA program can be applied to a job in policy and research.
