Emma is a candidate for a master’s degree in United Nations and Global Policy studies through the Political Science department at Rutgers University. She is a recent graduate of Rutgers University- New Brunswick as of May 2021, where she majored in Political Science and minored in Digital Communications, Information and Media Studies. During her time as an undergraduate student, Emma held multiple leadership positions within her sorority in addition to being a founding member of the organization’s chapter at Rutgers. Every year upon entering college (prior to the COVID-19 pandemic) she has traveled to England, staying with relatives and learning more about the culture and European current affairs. This as well as her experiences as the daughter of an immigrant from the UK have inspired her to apply for dual citizenship with the United Kingdom in the near future.
Beginning in Fall 2021, Emma plans to focus her UNMA studies on the Conflict Resolution, Counter-terrorism and Cyber Security curriculum concentration. She is currently looking for an internship to supplement her graduate studies, ideally in the nonprofit sector as that is where she hopes to begin her professional career. Emma’s longterm career goal is to work at the United Nations headquarters in New York City.
“I have always been told one of my greatest strengths is my ability to attempt to acknowledge and empathize with both sides in a conflict- even if I do not agree with their argument. Though it is easier said than done, I think this is something that the world needs more of.”
