Bio:
Austin Betz is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) from Burkina Faso, having worked in sustainable development as a Community Economic Development (CED) volunteer, as well as a Returned Disaster Relief Volunteer (RDRV) for the American Red Cross, having conducted a Community Needs Assessment in the US Virgin Islands in response to hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. Austin is a 2020 graduate student at Rutgers University in the United Nations and Global Policy studies graduate program, with a focus in human rights, gender equality and sustainable development. Austin hold a B.A. in both Foreign Language and Literature and Political Science from Rider University. When there, he was an active member of several different Academic and Language Honor Societies.
Austin is a proficient French and German speaker, after having studied in France, Austria and Belgium, and having lived and worked in Burkina Faso. Having worked for the Peace Corps and the American Red Cross, Austin hopes to continue his work in sustainable development and human rights.
