Dear graduate students,
Many of you are contemplating, planning or actively seeking careers and jobs outside academia, including careers in industry, non-profits or government.
The School of Graduate Studies will be hosting a panel discussion and Q and A session to introduce you to some of the business skills you would need to embark on these novel career paths. Panelists will include SGS alumni (PhDs) who have followed these career paths, as well as faculty members from the Rutgers Business School who will provide a valuable perspective on the latest trends in business. We'll also be discussing plans to provide training in introductory business skills through sets of mini-courses.
Join us on December 5th, 2018 at Busch Student Center (Center Hall). You can RSVP HERE.
We will have light refreshments and the opportunity to connect with fellow graduate students from across the SGS. The alumni will share their experiences of taking on leadership roles in for profit and non-profit organizations and business skills and knowledge they had (or they wished they had). They will also talk about how they cultivated these skills as they moved through various stages of their careers. The RBS faculty will reflect on the lived experiences of the alumni, connect it to some of the larger trends in American businesses today.
