Synopsis: The goal of this class is to trace the development of political parties in America and to offer a framework for understanding election law and results.  Key topics include party structures at state and federal levels, party systems, and the various theories of electoral behavior.  We shall conclude with an examination of the development and prospects of the “Tea Party”.
