Donald M. Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship Program (USAID)

Description: The USAID Donald M. Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship Program seeks to attract outstanding young people who are interested in pursuing careers in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). If you want to work on the front lines of some of the most pressing global challenges of our times - poverty, hunger, injustice, disease, environmental degradation, climate change, conflict and violent extremism - the Foreign Service of the U.S. Agency for International Development provides an opportunity to advance U.S. foreign policy interests and reflect the American people's compassion and support of human dignity. The Payne Fellowship, which provides up to $90,000 in benefits over two years for graduate school, internships, and professional development activities, provides a unique pathway to the USAID Foreign Service. Fellowship recipients can use the award to attend U.S. graduate programs throughout the country; they will join the USAID Foreign Service upon completion of the program, as long as they successfully complete the Payne Program and USAID entry requirements.

Dolores Zohrab Liebmann Fellowship

Description: Graduate school fellowships in any recognized field of study in the humanities, social sciences or natural sciences (including law, medicine, engineering, architecture or other formal professional training), independent research or study projects, publications focusing on Armenian studies. Applications must be submitted through the dean of the university where the student is pursuing graduate studies.

COLFUTURO Scholarship-Loan

Description: COLFUTURO is a Colombian non-profit foundation who's main objective is to provide financial support and increase the possibilities of Colombian citizens to access high-quality postgraduate study programs abroad. Students may be awarded scholarships for 50% of the loaned amount, provided they accomplish these three requirements: (1) be awarded their postgraduate degree, (2) return to Colombia, and (3) remain in the country for three to five years.

Charles B. Rangel Graduate Fellowship (US State Dept.)

Description: The Rangel Graduate Fellowship is a program that aims to attract and prepare outstanding young people for careers in the Foreign Service in which they can help formulate, represent and implement U.S. foreign policy. This program encourages the application of members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service and those with financial need. Fellows will complete two mandatory internships: the first in a Congressional office on Capitol Hill (the summer before commencing graduate study); and the second at an Embassy or Consulate abroad (the summer between 1st and 2nd year of graduate study). Fellows who successfully complete the program and meet Foreign Service entry requirements will receive appointments as Foreign Service Officers. Students must apply before commencing graduate studies.
