Joint Major in History - Political Science


The History/Political Science Joint Major is numbered 514 in the university's list of majors.

This major is an integrated program consisting of 45 credit hours from the combined disciplines, and not less than twenty-one credits from each. At least twenty-seven (27) of the forty-five (45) credits must be at the 300 level or above. In political science, at least twelve of the credits must be at the 300-400 level. The student must take the History Seminar (506:401 or 402), or Public History Internship (506:451). All courses must be completed with grades of "C" or better.

The History Component of the History/Political Science Joint Major will include the following courses:

*This change will go into effect May 2003. Students enrolled at Rutgers University prior to May 2003 will still need only 3 courses at the 300-400 level.
